Our waterproofing systems

Waterproofing system R

Our rollable system consists of two premixed agents; a vapour barrier and waterproofing membrane. They are applied with rollers and brushes and together they form a water and vapour proof layer for your wet room. The system is supplemented with strips and cuffs to seal pipe passages, wall and floor angles and any necessary board joints.

Characteristics and benefits

  • Rollable system, without foil cloth.
  • Easy and fast application by being rolled on in batches.
  • Approved for use above underfloor heating.
  • Especially suitable for use on heavy wall and floor structures of, for example, concrete or polished/plastered masonry.

Waterproofing System F

The F-system is a foil cloth, one of our foil-based systems consisting of a premixed waterproofing membrane and waterproofing foil. The foil cloth is wallpapered with the membrane and together they form a water and vapour-proof layer for your wet room. The system is supplemented with strips and cuffs to seal pipe passages, wall and floor angles and any necessary foil joints.

Characteristics and benefits

  • The foil cloth ensures the same tightness over the entire surface.
  • Premixed agents.
  • Approved for use above underfloor heating.
  • Can be used on most types of surfaces but is especially suitable for light wall and floor structures such as stiffened wooden beams or wet room slabs on wooden joists.

Waterproofing system 2K

2K is a foil system developed for faster assembly with shorter curing times, which craftsmen and experienced DIY fixers often prefer. It is a foil-based system consisting of a 2-component adhesive and waterproofing foil. The foil cloth is wallpapered with the 2-component adhesive and together they form a water and vapour-proof layer for your wet room. The system is supplemented with strips and cuffs to seal pipe passages, wall and floor angles and any necessary foil joints.

Characteristics and benefits

  • The foil cloth ensures the same tightness over the entire surface.
  • Long usage time. The time of use of a mixed adhesive in a bucket is 6-8 hours.
  • No separate jointing adhesive is needed but the system requires only 2K glue.
  • The shortest installation time where the wet room becomes tileable the fastest.
  • Approved for use above underfloor heating.
  • Can be used on most types of surfaces but is especially suitable for light wall and floor structures such as stiffened wooden beams or wet room slabs on wooden joists.

Waterproof tips on waterproofing

Now we hope that you feel ready for your renovation, and that you have found clarity on which of our Swedish-made and approved waterproofing systems that suits you and your wet room best.

When you as an individual carry out a renovation or new construction of wet rooms yourself, it is important that you do it professionally.

This means that the material you use must be from an approved system that meets the requirements for water and vapour density in the Swedish National Board of Housing and Urban Development's Building Regulations (BBR) and in the Swedish Building Ceramics Council's Industry Rules for Wet Rooms, applicable to BBV 21:1.
In order for you to succeed in your waterproofing project, the installation instructions and BBV 21:1 must be followed.

Biltema's waterproofing system consists of approved systems, which meet the requirements for water and vapour density according to current building and industry regulations, which is a prerequisite for your renovation or new construction to be carried out professionally.

NOTE! Our waterproofing systems should not be used outdoors or in uninsulated cellars where there is a risk of additional moisture.
